Studio Policies
Please review our studio policies to ensure a positive learning experience for all students and families.
Payment & Tuition
Tuition is divided evenly across 12 months, and monthly tuition remains the same each month. Most months include four lessons; however, some months may include three or five lessons due to holidays or months with five weeks
Tuition is billed monthly through our secure autopay system on the 1st of each month
A $25 late fee will be applied to payments received after the 7th of the month
All fees must be current to participate in recitals
Lesson Scheduling
A weekly lesson time is reserved exclusively for each student
A minimum of 24 hours notice is required if a lesson must be cancelled
When proper notice is given, a make up lesson can be scheduled based on teacher's availability
Makeup lessons must be scheduled within 60 days of the missed lesson. Unused makeup lessons expire after 60 days
No makeups for last-minute cancellations or no-shows
All tuition and fees are non-refundable
Lessons are held all year round except for the following holiday breaks:
September 7 (Labor Day)
October 31 (Halloween)
November 23-28 (Thanksgiving break)
December 21 - January 2 (Winter break)
March 15-20 (Spring break)
May 28-31 (Memorial Day weekend)
July 4 (Independence Day)
Lessons that fall on the above holiday breaks will not be rescheduled or made up
Recitals & Events
Participation in bi-annual recitals is strongly encouraged
Recital fee covers venue, materials and gifts
Students must be current on tuition to participate
Dress code: formal attire for recitals
Video recording permitted for personal use only
Practice Expectations
Daily practice recommended for optimal progress
Recommended time varies by student's age and level
Students should bring assignment book and materials to each lesson
Parents are responsible for purchasing recommended piano books/materials
To support steady progress, we recommend that every student have a piano or digital keyboard available at home
Bright Keys Piano Studio offers keyboard rentals to enrolled students who do not yet have an instrument at home
Studio Conduct
Respectful behavior expected from students and parents
Cell phones should be silenced during lessons
Parents welcome to wait in the lobby, observe lessons or drop off/pick up their child
Inclement Weather
In the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions - including but not limited to snow, ice, high winds, or other hazardous travel conditions - Bright Keys Piano Studio may choose to hold lessons online for the day instead of in person
Families will be notified by text and/or email if lessons are moved to an online format
Lessons held online due to weather are considered regular scheduled lessons; therefore, no refunds, tuition credits, or makeup lessons will be provided for these lessons
Termination Policy
A 30-day written notice is required to take a break from lessons. Families who wish to keep their reserved lesson time while away may continue tuition payments as usual. Any missed lessons are subject to the studio's regular makeup policy and applicable makeup limits
